The central question in toponymic research of the Jewish autonomous region is the etymology of place names. It can tell us a lot of interesting things a history of the studied district people who lived there and also about their lives. Within the limits of the given article the author considers the value of toponimics in geographical thinking which gives a possibility to see objects and phenomena in a close connection and time and space interdependence.
